Research Activities
Dr. Carrasquillo is director of the Columbia Center for the Health of Urban Minorities (CHUM). The areas of research of CHUM include access to care, mental health, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and injury prevention. CHUM is also in involved in developing minority investigators, cultural competency education and community partnerships. Dr. Carrasquillo also directs the community core of the Center for Active Life of Minority Elders (CALME) and oversees community-based activities.
